Beer of the Week Special Edition 5 (Philadelphia Beer Week Edition) - 6/11/2011: Founders Brewing Co. Cashew Mountain Brown
Wow.  One of the mystery kegs at the Founders event at Capone’s in East Norriton.  Brewed as an experiment, this one was THE highlight of my night by far.  From the brewer:
“Created as a tribute to deliciousness, this Imperial Brown Ale was aged in bourbon barrels that once aged maple syrup, with copious amounts of freshly toasted cashews added to the barrels. It is toasty and packed with maple bourbon and cashew flavors with enough alcohol to remind u that it is there without being overbearing.”
Could not stop drinking this one.  The cashew flavor was awesomely pronounced with the maple and bourbon.  Amazing that I even got to try it and I hope it makes it’s way back here sometime again!
