As a law student on both a budget and a diet, I decided to indulge once a week in my love for craft beer. The result was a weekly ritual involving an in depth look into the specific beer I chose. Beer of the Week 75 - 6/29/2011: Kuhnhenn Brewing Co. Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine
75 Beers so far. For this milestone posting, I decided to go with a beer I often thought I would never get to try. Kuhnhenn is in Warren, MI and is very hard to get anywhere outside of that town. I was lucky enough to get this big boy, 15.1% ABV, in a trade. This beer is really awesome. Bourbon, toffee, vanilla, oak and caramel all come out in a sweet, malty mix. The aroma is like the taste with the addition of lots of dark sticky fruits coming out as well. For bourbon lovers, this is a MUST HAVE beer. Cheers!
