Beer of the Week 85 - 9/7/2011: Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout
The newest spin-off of Goose Island’s celebrated Bourbon County Stout (see the first spin-off at Beer of the Week 40).  Provided by Doug Boehm and Robert Fink as dessert at a German beer dinner.  This one was all sorts of awesome.  As a vanilla lover, I was floored by how well integrated the vanilla bean was with the base beer (which is 13% ABV and aged in bourbon barrels).  Sweet but not cloying, this one had all I love in a beer: vanilla, bourbon, high ABV.  Unfrtunately, this one went SO quick, that there are probably no bottles left.  Feel free to write Goose Island telling them to make more!
