As a law student on both a budget and a diet, I decided to indulge once a week in my love for craft beer. The result was a weekly ritual involving an in depth look into the specific beer I chose. Beer of the Week 87.1 - 9/21/2011: Weyerbacher Old Heathen Imperial Stout
This week is a two-for-one. I decided to try two beers back to back: one a regular old Russian Imperial Stout and the other, its older brother, the same beer aged in bourbon barrels.
The first is Weyerbacher’s Imperial Stout, Old Heathen. It is really quite good with all the qualities of a Russian Imperial Stout coming through. Roasted malts and chocolate take the forefront here and make it an excellent beginning of cold weather sipper.
