Beer of the Week 89 - 10/5/2011: Brasserie de Rochefort (Abbaye de Notre-Dame de Saint-Remy) Trappistes Rochefort 8
From the same Trappist brewers that make my favorite beer of all time (see Beer of the Week 5).  This Belgian Strong Dark Ale really blew me away.  Deep rich flavors of dark fruits, Belgian yeast, and a very pleasant grape bubblegum flavor and aroma.  BSDA’s have quickly become one of my more favorite styles.  Something about their taste and mouthfeel that really makes each one quite enjoyable.  Those monks sure do know what they’re doing!
