As a law student on both a budget and a diet, I decided to indulge once a week in my love for craft beer. The result was a weekly ritual involving an in depth look into the specific beer I chose. Beer of the Week 93 - 11/2/2011: Alpine Beer Co. Pure Hoppiness
Alpine Beer Company is a tiny brewery in Alpine, CA that has quickly become reknown for its agressively hopped West Coast IPA’s. I have anxiously been awaiting the chance to try one of their IPA’s as fresh as possible. Here is my chance!
Pure Hoppiness is one of the more “juicy” Double IPA’s I have ever had. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange and other lovely citrus are the main attraction here. A very solid malt backbone really brings this one together. This one was well worth the wait, and a real gem of what makes a West Coast IPA so amazing. Perfect way to celebrate the first snow of the season!
