As a law student on both a budget and a diet, I decided to indulge once a week in my love for craft beer. The result was a weekly ritual involving an in depth look into the specific beer I chose. Beer of the Week 98.5 - 12/7/2011: Dark Horse Plead the 5th Imperial Stout
Finally, we have the big boy. A 12% Russian Imperial Stout that really blew me away. Big bold flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, toffee, and dark sticky fruits. Really rich and velvet like, this one was my favorite of the lot. Excellent stout.
So there you have it! 5 stouts of varying alchohol contents and characteristics. I was really happy to get to try these. This month I plan on breaking out some really special beers to celebrate the holiday, so definitely stay tuned!
